Postgame Notes: Austin Peay at Western Kentucky

Postgame Notes - Austin Peay at Western Kentucky (Nov. 15, 2014)

  • First-half scoring leaders:

APSU – Zavion Williams (10 points)
WKU – T.J. Price (11 points)

  • Senior Chris Freeman's 13 points were more than he had in any contest in 2013-14 and two off his career high, set Dec. 18, 2012 against Lipscomb.
  • With four blocks, junior Chris Horton now has 35 career games with at least three blocked shots.
  • Horton is now just four blocks away from becoming the second Gov with 200 or more career blocks – he would join Josh Lewis (2000-03), who maintains the APSU career blocks record with 257.
  • Austin Peay picked up just three steals against the Hilltoppers; last season, the Govs had fewer than four steals in a contest just once, in their January 11 contest against Murray State.
  • In hitting just 18-for-30 (60 percent) from the free-throw line, the Govs snapped a string of four straight games at 70 percent or better from the charity stripe, dating back to last season.
  • Horton recorded his 500th career rebound.
  • The loss is the first for the Govs in a season-opener since 2011-12.
  • The loss is the Govs seventh in a row to Western Kentucky.
  • All 10 points from Zavion Williams came in the first half.
