Post-Game Notes: Austin Peay vs. Tennessee State

  • The win gives Austin Peay its first Ohio Valley Conference victory of the season and third-straight in the series against Tennessee State.
  • The Governors now leads the all-time series 45-27 with head coach Dave Loos claiming 31 of those victories.
  • The Govs are now 5-1 in front of the Dunn Center home crowd.
  • Freshman Josh Robinson received his first start as a Governor, making it the fourth different lineup head coach Dave Loos has penciled in this season.
  • Robinson made the most of the start by totaling 15 points to lead all APSU players, going 4-of-8 behind the three-point arch.
  • Even though he played just 10 minutes, Zavion Williams was named the "Player of the Game" after getting the game-winning layup to go with six seconds remaining.
  • Williams scored 13 points (two three-pointers), a season-high in points for the redshirt-junior.
  • Junior center Chris Horton chipped in with 14 points and nine rebounds in the contest, the eleventh game in which has scored in double figures.
  • The Govs won the turnover battle 14-10, with the 10 turnovers being a season-low for APSU this season.
  • APSU grasped the lead at the 16:13 mark of the first half, and took control throughout much of the game to lead for 25:29.
  • However, the Tigers took the lead at the 10:37 mark of the second half, and built an 11-point gap until Williams' put-back made it 69-68.
