Post-Game Notes: Austin Peay vs. Southeast Missouri

  • Austin Peay's second-straight home defeat now puts them at 2-6 against Ohio Valley Conference opponents.
  • Despite the loss, a positive was junior center Chris Horton. Horton matched his career-high of 23 points following his performance against Morehead State one game ago, going 10-of-21 on Saturday against SEMO.
  • Horton also had a career-best 18 rebounds in the contest, with all remaining APSU players having 14 boards combined.
  • Horton's 18 rebounds were the most by a Gov since John Fraley had 18 against Tennessee State, Feb. 13, 2010.
  • It's his fifth consecutive double-double and 13th of the season.
  • Horton now moves ahead of Bubba Wells in the all-time rebounding record books, now with 737 as a Governor.
  • Senior Ed Dyson finished second on the team in scoring with 12 points, his 12th double-digit scoring effort of the season.
  • Another senior, Chris Freeman, chipped in with 10 points, the first time he has scored 10+ points since Jan. 3 at Ole Miss.
  • Jeremy Purvis played a season-high 35 minutes, scoring nine points. It's the most points the point guard has totaled since Dec. 15 against Troy (13 points).
  • The Govs went on a 15-5 run following a Dyson three-pointer and dunk by Horton, cutting the deficit to 58-55.
  • However, SEMO went on to outscore the Govs 12-7 to pull away for a six-point victory.
