Postgame Notes: Austin Peay vs. Thomas More

• Austin Peay defeated Thomas More, 85-64, Monday night at the Dunn Center.
• The Governors shot more than 50 percent in each half, finishing at 51.9 percent.
• Senior center Chris Horton led the Govs in the scoring category, recording a double-double (21 points, 12 rebounds) despite missing most of the second half due to foul trouble.
• Horton was 8-of-10 from the field and 5-of-8 from the free throw stripe in his 29 minutes on the floor.
• Horton nearly reached a double-double in the first half, totaling 14 points and eight rebounds.
• Sophomore Josh Robinson racked up 18 points (5-for-12), including a pair of three-pointers.
• Newcomer Jared Savage provided a spark for the Govs off the bench, scoring 15 points with five rebounds.
• APSU struggled at the free throw line, shooting 61 percent (28-of-46), while Thomas More was nearly perfect at 92 percent.
• Austin Peay won the turnover battle (17-11), scoring 23 points off takeaways, and also outrebounded the Saints 43-35.
• With a size advantage down low, the Govs scored 42 points in the paint.
• After the Saints jumped out to an early lead, APSU answered to outscore Thomas More 46-30 in the second, creating a cushion as large as 23 points.
