CLARKSVILLE – As Austin Peay State University concludes its early signing period, the men's tennis program welcomes Alex Kartsonis to the 2016 spring roster.
Kartsonis, of Leawood, Kansas, graduated from Kansas City Christian School in 2015. The oldest of three children, Alex will become the first person in the family to attend college, and plans to major in business management.
As a senior, Kartsonis claimed the Class 3-2-1A doubles championship in May, delivering the game-winning point. With his experience in doubles, Kartsonis will have a chance to make an immediate impact pairing alongside new teammates.
"Alex has a lot of experience, and doubles is very important," APSU head coach Ross Brown said. "He is very aggressive and can put pressure on opponents, which will help us become better in doubles play. Alex is very talented, a fighter and has been well-coached."
Kartsonis becomes the first men's tennis player to sign in this period, giving the Governors eight competitors leading into the spring.
