Postgame Notes: Austin Peay vs. Oakland City

  • Austin Peay earned its second win of the 2015 season, defeating Oakland City 83-55, Wednesday, at the Dunn Center.
  • All 13 players who suited up for APSU played, with three Governors reaching double figures.
  • It took just under 10 minutes for senior center Chris Horton to record a double-double, finishing with 17 points and 19 rebounds. It's the 40th double-double of his prestigious career.
  • Horton eclipsed the 900-reound mark for his career, and was one shy of tying his single-game high.
  • Sophomore guard Josh Robinson added 16 points despite going 0-for-5 from three-point land.
  • Senior forward Khalil Davis chipped in 14 points, 11 coming in the second half.
  • Austin Peay dominated on the glass, outrebounding OCU 54-33. It's the highest rebounding total since 2008 against Belmont.
  • In addition, the Govs had 23 offensive rebounds, the most since 2012 against Youngstown State.
  • APSU also limited the Mighty Oaks on the perimeter, holding the visitors to just one three-pointer and 27 percent shooting in the final 20 minutes.
  • The Govs committed just one turnover in the first half and five for the game.
  • Both teams shot 100 percent from the free throw line up until the final second of the first half as freshman Steve Harris missed a pair.
  • The depth of Austin Peay showed against the Mighty Oaks, totaling 17 bench points in the first half and 23 total.
