Postgame Notes: Austin Peay vs. Westminster

Postgame Notes: Austin Peay vs. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi

  • Austin Peay finished non-conference play with a 7-8 record—its best non-conference record since a 6-7 non-conference showing during the 2010-11 campaign.
  • With 31 assists, Austin Peay set a program record and equaled the Dunn Center record previously set by Western Kentucky (Jan. 19, 1980) and Southeast Missouri (Feb. 28, 2013).
  • Seven Governors – Chris Horton (18 points), Khalil Davis (17), Chris Porter-Bunton (14), Josh Robinson (13), John Murry (13), Jared Savage (11) and Kenny Jones (10)—finished in double figures, the first time since 2010 Austin Peay had six or more players finish with at least 10 points. With Porter-Bunton, Murry and Savage coming off the bench, it also marked the first time Austin Peay saw three reserves score in double figures since Feb 23, 2012 against UT Martin.
  • Porter-Bunton had a breakout game, recording career highs in points (14) and rebounds (10) for his first career double-double.
  • Porter-Bunton, Savage (11 points) and Stephen Harris (five) had career-highs in scoring.
  • Jones made it back-to-back double figure scoring contests for the first time in his career.
  • Murry reached double figures in scoring for the third time in his Austin Peay career, and the first since Nov. 22 against Northern Colorado.
  • Austin Peay held four of Westminster's five starters scoreless; the fifth, Romo Tabb, led the Blue Jays with 15 points.
  • Horton led the Govs in scoring (18 points), assists (six) and steals (three)—but was held to a season-low six rebounds. He's now been held under double-digit rebounds in back-to-back games for the first time since Feb. 19-22, 2014, against Morehead State and Eastern Kentucky.
  • Austin Peay set single-game season highs in points (112), field goals made (45), field goal attempts (76), assists (31) and equaled its season low in turnovers (five) and fouls (eight).
  • After tallying just five bench points in Monday's contest against Texas A&M Corpus Christi, Austin Peay's reserves accounted for 48 points against the Blue Jays.
  • Tonight's contest marked the 71st time in Austin Peay history that the Govs scored at least 100 points. It's the first such contest since Nov. 28, 2012 against Berea.
