Postgame Notes: Austin Peay vs. Southeast Missouri

  • Austin Peay controlled its part in a late push toward Nashville, defeating Southeast Missouri 83-75 at the Dunn Center.
  • The evening also served as Senior Night with Austin Peay athletics recognizing Chris Horton, Khalil Davis and manager Hayden McClain prior to tip-off.
  • In the second half, the Governors outscored their opponent 45-33 after trailing by four at halftime. APSU also held the Redhawks to 39 percent shooting in the second half.
  • The Govs held an advantage in the post, which led to 42 points in the paint. In addition, the home team outrebounded SEMO 35-27 in the contest.
  • Austin Peay totaled 20 bench points, 14 of which coming by redshirt freshman Chris Porter-Bunton. Porter-Bunton scored 11 points (5-of-6) in the second half, helping the Govs capture the lead down the stretch.
  • Sophomore Josh Robinson notched 10 points second-half points (18 total), despite not making a three-pointer. It breaks a 10-game streak in which the St. Louis native has converted from behind the arch.
  • In his final game at the Dunn Center, Horton totaled 17 points and nine rebounds despite being doubled, even triple-teamed, in the paint.
  • Another senior, Davis, provided a spark in the second half with 10 points, along with junior Kenny Jones who also added 10.
  • In his second start of his collegiate career, freshman Jared Savage chipped in with eight points as head coach Dave Loos utilized Robinson at point guard with Savage and Davis on the wings.
  • Southeast Missouri's Antonius Cleveland scored a game-high 24 points on 10-of-18 shooting.
