- For the fifth consecutive game, nickelback Malik Boynton and quarterback JaVaughn Craig were the captains.

- Saturday's final score (34-14) matched the 2016 result between the two teams in Jacksonville.
- Austin Peay is now 6-19-3 all-time against Jacksonville State in a series that dates back to 1947.
LINEUP
- For the first time this season, Austin Peay had a change to its starting offensive lineup with Gorel Soumare making his season's first start at wide receiver.
- The defense saw changes for a sixth-straight game with senior Dekeivis Perry making his season's first start at strong safety.
- Free safety Malik Davis and cornerback Keawvis Cummings returned to the starting lineup after coming off the bench against UT Martin.
OFFENSIVE SPARKS
- Kyran Moore's touchdown catch was the first by a Governors wide receiver this season. The Govs previous touchdown receptions were by running back Kentel Williams.
- DJ Montgomery became the second Govs wideout to catch a touchdown pass with his fourth-quarter score.
- Austin Peay finished with 234 offensive yards, Kentel Williams ended the night with 89 all-purpose yards to lead that effort.
- Quarterback Jeremiah Oatsvall had the Govs longest pass play of 2017 in the fourth quarter – completing a 39-yard pass to DJ Montgomery. His 35-yard completion to Kentel Williams in the fourth quarter was APSU's third-longest pass play.
- Austin Peay scored for the 32nd consecutive game.

- Jaison Williams led the Govs with 10 tackles, the first double-digit tackle performance by a defensive lineman since 2014 against Tennessee Tech.
- Williams also forced two fumbles in the second quarter, including a strip-sack-recovery late in the period. He now leads the team with three forced fumbles.
- Gunnar Scholato recovered his second fumble this season in the second quarter. It is the third possession gained by Scholato (1 INT, 2 FR) in 2017.
- Austin Peay was credited with 91 tackles, its second-highest tackle total this season (104 at Cincinnati in Week 1).
- Austin Peay surrendered a touchdown on an opponent's opening drive for the first time this season.

- Devin Stuart had the best punting performance in the OVC this season, averaging a career-best 48.3 yards on his seven punts. Three of his punts went for 50-plus yards and two were downed inside the 20-yard line.
- Stuart and Jeremiah Oatsvall combined on consecutive punts that the Govs coverage unit downed at the Jacksonville State's one-yard line in the third quarter.
- Kyran Moore had his first two kick returns of 2017, finishing with 37 yards on those two returns.
