  • Austin Peay downed Eastern Illinois at Fortera Stadium for the first time since 1958, ending the Panthers eight-game winning streak in Clarksville.

SERIES UPDATE                                                     

  • Austin Peay defeated Eastern Illinois for the fourth time in program history.
  • It was the Govs first victory against the Panthers since 2008, ending an eight-game losing streak.

  • Austin Peay won its eighth game of the season, tying the program record for victories set by the 1977 Governors.
  • It also was the Govs seventh OVC victory, breaking the program record. 

OFFENSIVE SPARKS

  • Ahmaad Tanner rushed for two touchdowns, his first multi-TD outing this season and his sixth consecutive game with a touchdown run.
  • Jeremiah Oatsvall scored a rushing touchdown for the third consecutive game.
  • Austin Peay finished the game with 325 rushing yards, tying its third best rushing performance this season (SEMO). Eleven different Govs rushed for positive yardage in the contest.
  • The Govs broke the program single-season record with the program's first 3,000-rushing yard campaign. The Govs ended the regular-season with 3,105 rushing yards.  Austin Peay's 258.3 rushing yards per game ranks second all time.
  • The Governors also extended their record for total offensive yards, ending the regular season with 4,645 yards. Austin Peay's 387.2 total yards per game also is a program record.
  • Austin Peay also extended its own program record for single-season points, finishing the regular season with 327 points, topping the 1994 team's mark for total points. The Govs averaged 27.3 points per game, second-most in program history (30.4 ppg in 1965 the record)

DEFENSIVE STANDS                                              

  • Austin Peay intercepted two passes in the game, its second-straight game with an interception.
  • For a second straight game, Keawvis Cummings intercepted a pass to seal a win.
  • Juantarious Bryant notched his first interception of 2017.
  • Gunnar Scholato need eight tackles for 100 and got eight tackles to record his second straight 100-tackle season. He is the first Governor since Drew Wilson to record consecutive 100-tackle performances.

SPECIAL TEAMS                                                    

  • Devin Stuart punted four times, seeing two downed inside the 20-yard line and booming one for 58 yards. It was his longest punt of the season and his ninth punt of 50-plus yards. He has eight punts downed inside the 20-yard line.
  • Stuart also ran for a first-down, running 21-yards on a fake punt early in the first quarter. It was his first career rush.
