As a redshirt senior in 2020-21: Consistent improvement highlighted his final Austin Peay season… was the Governors top finisher at the Southern Invitational, posting a 219 thanks largely to a second-round 66 which equaled his career-low as a Governor… posted a one-under 71 to close out the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate and fired a 221 overall as the only Gov to improve round-over-round during the event… earned a hard-fought 2&1 win in the match play rematch at Western Kentucky… led the Govs with a 4.92 stroke average on par-5 holes at the National Intercollegiate… fired a second-round 81 in a substitute appearance at the 2021 Ohio Valley Conference Men’s Golf Championship to close out his Austin Peay career.
As a senior in 2019-20: Made four appearances in shortened season… three of 12 rounds were par or better, with four counting toward the team tally… final-round 70 at the Sam Hall Intercollegiate… carded an opening-round 68 at the Skyhawk Classic… also appeared in the Derek Dolenc Invitational and the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate, putting together an even-par 72 in the second round in Dickson.
As a junior in 2018-19: Only Gov whose stroke average improved or maintained round over round… opened season with a top-10 showing at the Golfweek Program Challenge, including a season-best 69 in Round Two… played as the No. 4 at the Memphis Intercollegiate and the Hummingbird Intercollegiate… also competed at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate and the Ryman Hospitality Intercollegiate.
As a sophomore in 2017-18: Enjoyed a quartet of top-10 finishes as a sophomore… scuffled during the fall before rallying for a 21st-place finish at the MTSU Intercollegiate (73-77—150) to close the fall slate… opened the spring with three straight top-10 finishes at the Invitational at Savannah Harbor (sixth, 69-74-70—213), Fort Lauderdale Intercollegiate (fourth, 71-78-66—215) and the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate (fifth, 74-67-70—211)… his career-best, six-under 66 in the final round at Fort Lauderdale was the best by a Gov since 2015 and moved him from 38th into a tie for fourth and gave the Govs their first win under head coach Robbie Wilson; he birdied three in a row on Holes 5-7 and nailed an eagle on No. 14… shot a 220 (72-74-72) to finish ninth at the 2018 Ohio Valley Conference Men’s Golf Championships, the first Gov with a top-10 finish in OVC play since 2015.
As a freshman in 2016-17: Newcomer showcased high potential in his first season, competing in all 11 tournaments… was the only Gov to post multiple rounds in the 60s, at the Invitational at Savannah Harbor (second-round 69) and the Coca-Cola Wofford Invitational (second-round 68)… competed as the individual in four of first five events before transitioning into the lineup in a big way with an eighth-place finish at the Invitational at Savannah Harbor (73-69-73-215), coming in at one-under for the tournament… earned another top-10 at the Coca-Cola Wofford Invitational, finishing sixth with a 140 (72-68), shooting four-under overall… earned season’s third top-20 at the OVC Championships, carding a 222 (72-73-77) to finish 18th.
Prior to Austin Peay: Tenth-ranked player in the state of Ohio as a senior... first freshman in 19 years to qualify for Ohio districts... second-team Ohio Capital Conference as a freshman and sophomore; earned first-team honors as a senior... attended the International Junior Golf Academy in Hilton Head, South Carolina as a junior... medalist as a senior at the 19-team Watkins Memorial Invitational, shooting 2-under... sectional co-medalist as a senior with a 3-under 69, tying the school's 18-hole low.
