Austin Peay State University Athletics

2016-17: OVC All-Newcomer selection picked up seven top-20 finishes in his first season… only Governor to count in every round he competed in, led the way in stroke average (73.86) and winning percentage (.663)… posted six-straight top-20 finishes (from the Oct. 4 Skyhawk Classic to the March 21 Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate), the best stretch by a Governor golfer since Marco Iten (2013)… started that streak with a 16^th-place finish at the Skyhawk Classic, including a one-under par second round (75-71-74-220)… just missed a top-10 at the Hummingbird Invitational, tying for 11^th at 145 (71-74)… earned a season-best 4^th place finish at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate, closing out his 54-hole 210 with a season-low 69 (71-71-69)—he was one of two players in the tournament to come in under par in all three rounds… was Austin Peay’s top finisher at the OVC Championships, carding a 220 (70-75-75) to tie for 13^th.

Prior to Austin Peay: Spent two seasons at Darton State, winning back-to-back Region 17 championships, with Tidwell finishing 12th overall... Cavaliers finished third in NJCAA District IV Championships in 2016... posted a third-place finish at the Doublegate Collegiate Invitational... earned medalist honors at the Region 2-A/AA Championships as a senior at Alcoa, leading the Tornadoes to a team title and berth in the TSSAA A/AA Championships; Tidwell placed ninth in the subsequent state tournament appearance, helping the Tornadoes earn the A/AA state title.

Personal: Son of Mike and Annette Tidwell... has one sister, Nicole... born Nov. 29... plans to major in business management.
