Austin Peay’s head coach in football, basketball and baseball from 1936-42. Compiled a 76-48 record during six years as basketball coach, including 19-0 record during 1939-40 season. Once led Austin Peay to the Southeastern Junior College Championship. Had 19-33-1 record as football coach and 9-28 mark as baseball coach in pre-war years when money and manpower were very scarce. A native of Cleveland, Tenn. and a graduate of the University of Tennessee, he received his masters degree at Michigan in 1937 and since leaving Austin Peay has been a division director for the Tennessee State Department of Education for nine years, supervisor of physical education for the South Carolina Education Department for four years, head of the health and physical education department at Southwestern Louisiana for 15 years and currently a retired, part-time health and physical education instructor at Lee College in his native Cleveland.
