Austin Peay State University Athletics

Oakley was named senior captain of the 1950 Austin Peay football team, and was the 1951 winner of the Joy Award. He was named to the All-VASC teams as a defensive end in 1949 and 1950. The Livingston native was a four-year letterman for APSU under coach Dave Aaron during his tenure at Austin Peay.
