  • Austin Peay suffered a blocked punt for the second consecutive game. The Governors had just two punts blocked in 98 attempts in 2014.
  • Southern Miss outgained Austin Peay 514 to 189 – its largest disparity since a 511-yard difference (655-144) at Jacksonville State, Nov. 1, 2014.
  • Austin Peay's 189 total offensive yardage mark was its lowest since posting 144 total yards in last season's Jacksonville State match-up.
  • Southern Miss tailback Ito Smith had 184 yards total offense – five fewer than Austin Peay's total offensive tally.
  • The Govs were 2-for-16 on third-down conversions, and did not convert on third down until their last drive of the game.
  • The Governors converted as many fourth down attempts (two) as third down attempts—in 13 fewer tries.
  • After missing the season opener due to an appendectomy, senior Evan Toby punted eight times for a 42.9 average, including a 60-yarder to pin Southern Miss inside their own 20-yard line.
  • Toby's 60-yarder was the first by an Austin Peay punter since Ben Campbell against Murray State, Oct. 18, 2014.
  • Austin Peay controlled the clock in this one, holding the ball for 37:08, including 12:09 in the fourth quarter alone.
  • After being held to two yards on three carries in the opener, freshman Kendall Morris saw his role expand and he responded with 54 yards on 17 carries.
  • Sophomore Dekeivis Perry posted a career-high five tackles.
  • For the second week in a row, sophomore Nicholis Matiere-Bey posted five tackles, and added 1.5 TFL against the Golden Eagles.
  • Senior Adam Noble posted three total tackles, the last being the 150th of his career.
  • The loss to Southern Miss was Austin Peay's 17th in a row against an FBS opponent dating back to 1987.
