CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Senior women's basketball player Brooke Armistead and senior men's golf player Joe
Humston have been named co-Santa Fe Cattle Company/Austin Peay State University Athletes of the Week.
Armistead, who ranks first on Austin Peay's all-time scoring list and second on the Ohio Valley Conference's all-
list with 2,508 points, ended her basketball career with a 30-point effort in the Lady Govs' near upset of third-seed North
Carolina in the NCAA Tournament, Saturday, in Boulder, Colo. Armistead's 30 points marks a school record for points
scored in an NCAA Tournament game.
Armistead scored 25 of her 30 points in the second half, including 8-of-10 shooting from the field and a perfect five-
of-five from three-point range. She ended the game with six three-pointers, tying an NCAA Mideast Region First/
Second-round record. Armistead also finished the game with six assists, two steals and two rebounds.
Humston led the men's golf team to a dominating victory last weekend at the EKU Spring Invitational. The golf Govs
fired a three-round 832 (269-280-283) and Humston earned medalist honors with a three-round, 10-under par 206 (67-
69-79).
The Governors, who rolled to a 27-stroke win over second-place Eastern Kentucky, claimed the top three finishes.
Along with Humston's first-place finish, Matt Gallant and Adam Shanks finished tied-for-second with 208s. Richie
Head also posted a top-10 finish, placing seventh with a 212 (69-70-73).
