CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Senior baseball pitcher Dustin Smith and senior track and field hurdler
Tanika Smotherman have
been named co-Santa Fe Cattle Company/Austin Peay State University Athletes of the Week.
Smith, last week's Santa Fe Cattle Company/APSU Athlete of the Week, posted his second consecutive complete game
and his season's third, Saturday, in the Governors' 4-1 victory against Morehead State. Smith struck out five Eagles' batters?
upping his Ohio Valley Conference league-leading total to 55? while allowing just two hits and two walks. Smith now stands 4-
2 on the season with a 2.33 earned run average, third best in the OVC.
For consecutive weeks, Smotherman won the 400-meter hurdles. After taking the title at last weekend's Gatorade Classic
at Southeast Missouri, Smotherman defeated the field at the Tennessee State Boston Moon Classic, Saturday, by three
seconds, her time coming in 1:01.50.
