CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Austin Peay State University women's tennis team will open its fall season this weekend with a visit
to Evansville, Ind. for the Aces Fall Classic.
The tournament will have five singles flights along with three doubles flights. Tournament play will begin Friday afternoon
with two doubles rounds and the first round of singles action, all set to begin at 1 p.m. The tournament will conclude Saturday,
beginning at 8 a.m. with the doubles championship rounds, and remaining singles action to follow.
Schools participating in the tournament include host Evansville, OVC opponents Eastern Kentucky and Morehead State,
along with Western Kentucky, Southern Illinois and Southern Indiana.
This will be the second year the team has opened at Evansville. The Lady Govs are looking to improve after a rebuilding year
in which they only won two matches. The team will bring experience to the table this year, returning five of the previous top six.
"This is actually one of our favorite tournaments, the girls really like it," women's coach Angie McLean said, "I'm really
looking foward to seeing the other teams, the solid competition is good practice for us."
