Lady Govs golfers head to North Carolina

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Austin Peay State University women's golf team will be playing in its fourth fall tournament when it
theads to Waynesville, N.C., Monday and Tuesday, for the Great Smokies Championship.
The tournament will be played at the Waynesville Country Club the home course host Western Carolina.
This is sixth straight year the Lady Govs have participated in the Great Smokies Championship. In fact, the Lady Govs 18
and 36-hole records were produced on this course.
"Our girls love playing in this tournament; this is one of their favorite course to play on throughout the season," said APSU
women's head coach Sara Burkhead.
Among the teams participating in this tournement are Ohio Valley Conference members Tennessee Tech, Murray State,
Eastern Kentucky, Samford plus Lipscomb, Western Kentucky and Belmont..
The Lady Govs will look to improve on last year's 11th-place performance.

Amanda Rose and
freshman
Cristina Lignarolo rounding out the squad.
"Erin, Christine, and Pier-Anne all had their best rounds of the season last year at this tournament," Burkhead said. "We
hope that trend will continue this year. We know that our short game is always the key for us. If we do the little things right I
expect us to have are best tournament of the year this week."
