APSU rifle wraps up the season at the OVC Championships

JACKSONVILLE, Ala. ? Austin Peay State University women's air rifle team competed in the O'Reilly/Ohio Valley
Conference Air Rifle Championships, Saturday, at Jacksonville State. The Lady Govs finished seventh out of eight teams
and were led by junior Shauna Haskin (560 points) and freshman Jacqueline Furlong (553 points).
"Senior Jessica Boyter (524 points) developed a leg cramp on her sixth shot and had a slight misfire," said head coach
Howard Wooster. "Freshman Jessica Haught (536 points) was battling an infection in her hand that made it painful to
support the rifle. Despite the injuries, I thought the ladies shot very well today. We ended the season on a high note."
All the Lady Govs except for the lone senior, Boyter, should return next fall.
