Lady Govs softball looks to end skid against Kentucky Wesleyan

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. ? Austin Peay State University's softball team looks to end a five-game losing streak Wednesday as it hosts Kentucky Wesleyan in a 3 p.m. doubleheader at Lady Govs Field.

Austin Peay (2-9) will be looking to regain some momentum before opening Ohio Valley Conference play this Saturday at Samford.

“We haven't been playing very good softball the last few games,” Austin Peay head coach Jim Perrin said. “We've been inconsistent in just about every phase of the game and it has cost us some chances to win games.

“We're a better team than our record shows, but we're needing to put some things together and soon. Conference play starts this weekend and every series is a key series and you can't take any one of them for granted.”

Kentucky Wesleyan (5-11) enters the match-up having not played since March 7, a 10-7 extra-inning win against Stonehill College, at the Rebel Games in Orlando, Fla.
