Want To Be the Governor?

The APSU Spirit Squads are looking for two students to fill the Governor's shoes! Both positions offer a partial scholarship, as well as benefits extended to all student-athletes!

No prior experience is necessary; all you need is enthusiasm and commitment!

Requirements:

• Must be a fulltime student (enrolled in 12 or more hours) with a 2.0 cumulative GPA (if you have been at APSU for at least one semester) and must maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA

• Perform during some basketball timeouts (60-second skits) and some halftimes (with the spirit squads or in support of other entertainment)

• Attend one spirit squad practice per week for 30 ? 60 minutes (Tuesday/Thursday 4:00 ? 7:00 PM; Sunday 3:00 ? 6:00 PM)

• Be able to interact through appropriate gestures and movements with Governor fans of all ages (we will teach you how to walk and move!)

Audition Requirements:

• A short interview with spirit squad coaches

• A short skit (30 ? 60 seconds) to your own music (if needed)

• A humorous routine or play or dance (choose & provide music)

A Typical Week During:

• Football Season: Five to six noon Friday pep rallies; five to six Saturday tailgates & games (4 ? 10:00 PM); one to two other appearances per month.

• Basketball Season: One game per week (4:30 ? 10:00 PM) until mid-January; two games per week through February; one to two other appearances per month; travel to OVC/NCAA tournament games.

• Late spring/summer: university-sponsored appearances as needed, usually one per month, with almost none during the summer.

Other Notes:

• We will teach you what you need to know to be successful

• You may come to a practice (see above for times) to try the uniform on and get acquainted with the feel
