CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. –
Terrence Holt, whose 71-yard punt return for a third-quarter touchdown capped Austin Peay State University's 24-21 comeback win against Tennessee State, has been named Ohio Valley Conference Specialist of the Week.
This is the second straight week that Holt has earned the league's specialist honor. It also was the second straight week Holt returned a kick for a TD—he had a 99-yard TD kick return at Murray State. Holt now has five career kick returns for touchdowns—two punts and three kickoffs. Holt, the FCS leader in all-purpose yards, finished the game with 222 yards, including a 22-yard TD run. Holt now has 14 TDs for the season.
In rolling up another 200-yard all-purpose performance, he now has 2,061 all-purpose yards in 2009, placing him second all-time in single-season yardage behind Jay Bailey's 2002 record of 2,153 yards. His two touchdowns against the Tigers gives him seven games this season with multiple touchdowns and 14 total, which stands as the fourth-highest total in school history behind Chris Fletcher (2006) and Jay Bailey (2002) with 18 and Fletcher (2007) with 15.
