CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. ? Austin Peay State University's softball team will step out of Ohio Valley Conference play on Tuesday as its plays host in-state rival Belmont for a, 1 p.m., doubleheader at Lady Govs Field.

The games were originally scheduled to begin at 4 p.m., but with rain in the forecast for Tuesday, the start times have been pushed up to give the two teams the best chance to get the games in.

Austin Peay (7-24) is coming in after splitting its two OVC games against Tennessee State on Sunday, winning the first game 2-1, behind the two-hit pitching of senior Ashley Elrod, while being edged in the nightcap, 7-6.

Belmont (9-13) is coming into the doubleheader a struggling team having lost nine of its last 10 games. It did split a doubleheader with North Florida on Sunday , with the victory being its first win in over a month.
