CLARKSVILLE - Austin Peay State University men
and women's tennis teams host the Austin Peay Fall Invitational, beginning
Friday. The men play at the Austin Peay Tennis Courts, while the women will play at the Swan Lake Tennis Complex.
"We're excited about having some good weather
and being able to get outside," head coach Malik Tabet said. "It's going to be
good to have a chance to see some of our new players in competition. This a
group of kids that are anxious to learn about the game. After this weekend, we'll
be able to evaluate and get better."
Austin Peay's women will feature senior Vanja
Tomic and sophomore Andra Cornea, along with freshman Weronika Kurka. The Govs
are led by junior Sean Bailey and sophomore Jasmin Ademovic, a pair of All-OVC
selections a year ago.
The field includes more than 30 players on
the women's side and more than 50 on the men's side. Among the teams are Ohio
Valley Conference members Eastern Illinois and SIU Edwardsville, along with
Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Western Kentucky, North Alabama and Lewis University.
