UPDATE - Inclement weather forced the cancelation of the Govs dual golf match, Friday, with Northern Illinois.
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Austin Peay State University men's golf
team opens its spring tournament season with a dual match, Friday, against Northern Illinois
at The Links at Novadell.
Each team will field seven golfers with the five low scores
counting toward the team total. Weather permitting, the two teams are scheduled
to tee it up at 1 p.m.
The Govs lineup will be led by a pair of sophomores - Marco Iten
and Anthony Bradley. Both had strong fall seasons, in particular at their home
course where they led the Govs to a win at the F&M Bank APSU
Intercollegiate. Iten, in fact, winning the event with an eight-under par 208.
Junior Dustin Korte and sophomore Trey Tarpley also are in
the lineup. Korte and Tarpley each were named OVC Golfer at the Week at
differing points during the fall season. Seniors Drew Miller and Logan Loftus,
along with sophomore Alasdair MacLennan make up the rest of the Govs
seven-player squad.
From here, the Govs head to Birmingham, Saturday, for the
Samford Men's Golf Intercollegiate.
