MOREHEAD, Ky. - Austin Peay State University women's team dropped its regular-season finale, 4-3, at Morehead State, Sunday afternoon.

Senior Vanja Tomic rebounded from Saturday's loss with a straight-set win at No. 1 singles against Morehead State's Alix Young. Tomic also had a hand in the Lady Govs No. 1 doubles win, alongside freshman Alison Carre. The doubles win left Tomic and Carre with a  5-4 league record.

Tomic ends the regular season with a 7-1 record at No. 1 singles, while Carre finishes at 8-1 in her first trip through the Ohio Valley Conference.

Austin Peay needed three set matches for its other two wins. Sophomore Andra Cornea dropped the first set, won the second 6-1 and battled to a 7-5 third-set win for the match. Freshman Jovana Karak, meanwhile, split the first two sets and but won the deciding set.

The Lady Govs end Ohio Valley Conference play with a 5-4 record and will be the No. 4 seed at the upcoming OVC Tennis Tournament, facing No. 5 seed Eastern Illinois, 2 p.m., Friday. Morehead State, meanwhile, is the No. 6 seed, facing No. 3 Murray State, 2 p.m., Friday.
