Lady Govs fall to Evansville

CLARKSVILLE - Austin Peay State University women's tennis team saw its two-match win streak come to an end, Friday, in a 6-1 loss to Evansville at the Austin Peay Tennis Center.

The Lady Govs could not lock up the doubles point despite picking up a win in the No. 3 match. Freshman Hannah Tatlock and junior Jovana Karac knocked off Andjela Brguljan and Mina Milovic, 8-5, their third straight win dating back to Feb. 16.

Also continuing a streak was junior Ornella Di Salvo, who won her No. 2 singles match against Natasha James (6-3, 7-5) – her fourth straight victory, giving her the longest singles streak by a Lady Gov this season.

Junior Vanessa Tavares took a hard-luck loss on Friday; the Brazilian fell to Kelsey Costales (6-1, 4-6, 2-6) at No. 3, her first three-set defeat since April 7, 2013.

The Lady Govs return to action 2:30 p.m., Saturday, against third-ranked NAIA squad Lindsey Wilson at the Tennis Center.
