Lady Govs travel to Southern Illinois, host Lindsey Wilson

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Austin Peay State University women's tennis team returns to action when it visits Southern Illinois for a 4:30 p.m., Friday match before challenging Lipscomb in a 3 p.m., Saturday match at the Austin Peay Indoor Tennis Center.

The Lady Govs enter the weekend with a 0-6 record, and are well rested after a two week break.  In their last match, the Lady Govs dropped a 6-1 decision to Lipscomb, Feb. 14.

Southern Illinois (2-6) enters the weekend fresh off of a Monday victory against Eastern Illinois.  The Salukis are led by the pairing of sophomore Meagan Monghan and senior Natasha Tomishima who have achieved a 4-3 record at the No. 1 doubles position. 

Lindsey Wilson (1-3) travels to Clarksville fresh off of a two week break of its own. The Blue Raiders are led by senior Diana Gerlakh, who owns a 2-2 record in singles action this spring, along with sophomore Alicia Rodriguez, who has posted a 1-3 mark in singles play at the No. 1 position.  In doubles, Rodriguez has paired with junior Jessica King at the No. 1 position.

After playing the Salukis and Blue Raiders, the Lady Govs will hit the road to take on Kennesaw State in a 2 p.m., Saturday Feb. 14, contest at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
