Govs open OVC slate against Racers

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn.– Austin Peay State University men's tennis team will open up its Ohio Valley Conference schedule on the road when it challenges Murray State in a 2 p.m., Tuesday match at Purcell Courts.

The Govs enter the match with a 5-4 record, having defeated Coastal Georgia 6-3 in its last match. Against the Mariners, senior Aleksas Tverijonas and sophomore Aaron Jumonville both completed undefeated afternoons to lead the Govs to victory.

Murray State (0-9) dropped their most recent match to Kentucky 6-0 on March 8. The Racers are led by senior Max McLean and freshman Will True, who occupy the first two singles slots.

In the most recent meeting between the two teams, the Govs emerged with a 7-0 victory against the Racers on April 10, 2014.

After playing the Racers, the Govs will remain on the road as they travel to Eastern Illinois for a 10:30 a.m., Friday match at Darling Courts.
