The Fast Five | Crossing Over

Because LetsGoPeay.com endeavors to keep up with the latest trends in internet and journalism, it's been brought to our attention that people enjoy lists. Every week during the academic year (hooray crossover season!), we'll give you the Fast Five—five things to know or watch for around APSU athletics in the coming days.

31496

Austin Peay football can check a big milestone off its list of goals with a victory at Tennessee Tech this weekend. A win against the Golden Eagles would give the Governors their first outright Sgt. York Trophy series win since its inception in 2007.

31507

Exhibition basketball gets underway this weekend, with the regular season right around the corner. Matt Figger's men's squad hosts Sewanee, Saturday night, in the Dunn Center while David Midlick and the women's team welcome Kentucky Wesleyan, Tuesday.

31518

A huge three-match slate awaits the volleyball team at the Dunn Center, with UT Martin, Southeast Missouri and Mu**ay State coming to town. Last time the Governors faced this particular trio, Ashley Slay and Kristen Stucker emerged as OVC Offensive Player and Setter of the Week thanks to three 3-0 routs.

31529

Get ready to welcome some new faces as early signing period kicks off next Wednesday. Figger's first fall class is sure to bring in a wealth of talent, while all sports save football and soccer (who enjoy their own Signing Days in February, with football also getting a December period as well) are eager to greet the next batch of future Governors.

31540

What can freshman Jeremiah Oatsvall do for an encore? The two-time reigning OVC Newcomer of the Week and newly-minted APSU Athlete of the Month had the best passing day of his career last week against FBS No. 17 UCF. What might be in store for the Brentwood Academy product against one of the lowest-ranked FCS passing defenses?

That's this week's Fast Five. Good luck to all our teams in action this week and Let's Go Peay!
