LINEUP

  • James Bond returned as a starter at strong safety for the first time since the Miami contest, making his second start this season.

OFFENSIVE SPARKS

  • It was Callahan's second rush as a Governor, a 22-yard dash that was one of only four plays of 20-plus yards by the Govs offense.
  • Austin Peay finished with 206 rushing yards, its third straight 200-yard rushing performance.
  • Eight different Governors contributed to that rushing total, Ahmad Tanner leading the way with 90 net yards.

DEFENSIVE STANDS

  • It is the fourth consecutive game the Governors have forced a turnover, they have recovered 11 turnovers (five fumbles, six interceptions) in that span.
  • While Austin Peay did not score on any of the three turnovers, two of the takeaways came at key points – stopping two of the four UTM drives that ventured into the APSU territory. The other two were halted by downs.
  • Austin Peay's defense finished with the game with season-high 90 tackles. Jeremiah Mitchell led the way with 14 stops and Gunnar Scholato posted 12 tackles.
