CLARKSVILLE – A return trip "Between the Hedges" in 2025 is on Austin Peay State University's football schedule with the APSU athletics department agreeing to the future date with Georgia, the programs have announced.

Austin Peay, which made its first trip to Athens, Georgia to open the 2018 season, is scheduled to play Sept. 6, 2025 (Week 2) at Sanford Stadium. The Bulldogs are the latest Southeastern Conference opponent added to the Governors upcoming football schedules, joining Ole Miss (2021) and Alabama (2022).

"We're excited to make a return trip Between the Hedges in 2025," said Austin Peay Director of Athletics Gerald Harrison. "Our student-athletes will enjoy the opportunity to compete in Sanford Stadium, one of college football's premier venues and I am excited for the next class of Governors to have that opportunity. Like last year, I know Stacheville will travel in large numbers to Athens to support the Govs!"

The contest against Georgia precedes a Sept. 13 matchup at Middle Tennessee, previously announced by Austin Peay athletics.
