CLARKSVILLE - Austin Peay State University women's tennis team dominated Carson-Newman, winning every match, en route to a 7-0 victory, Friday, at the Governors Tennis Center.

The Governors (4-0) continued its unbeaten start to the season and set the tone early, winning all three doubles matches by 6-1 or 6-2 scorelines.

Claudia Yanes Garcia was the first Gov to claim a point in singles, easily defeating her opponent, 6-1, 6-2. Yanes Garcia remains undefeated in singles to start the spring.

Her twin sister Lidia Yanes Garcia, along with Tatiana Lopez, also stayed unbeaten in singles. Lopez, who provided the clinching point, won in straight sets at No. 3 singles, 6-4, 6-3, while Lidia needed a third set supertiebreaker to win at No. 1 singles after dropping the first set.

Helena Kuppig, Danielle Morris, and Ana Albertson also swept the No. 4-6 singles spots, all in straight sets, as the Govs recorded their second straight 7-0 victory.

The Govs continue their home stand with a match against Cumberland University, 10:30 a.m., Tuesday.
