Govs to face North Alabama in program's first ASUN conference match

CLARKSVILLE – For a quick stop, the Austin Peay State University's beach volleyball team will return home to face North Alabama in a doubleheader,1 p.m., Thursday, to begin ASUN Conference play.

This is first time in program history the Governors (4-8) will play a conference match. The ASUN has 10 beach volleyball playing members, and the Governors have already played a conference foe this past weekend, Stetson, though in a non-conference tilt. The Governors will have eight matches in conference play battling against western division foes Jacksonville State, Coastal Carolina, Morehead State, and North Alabama.

The Govs will look to bounce back from last weekend at the Seminole Beach Battle at home against the Lions of North Alabama at the Governors Beach Volleyball Complex. North Alabama (4-6) split a pair of matches, Monday, beating Lincoln Memorial and falling to Florida Southern, both by 3-2 finals. The Govs then hit the road to face Morehead State (8-3) in a conference doubleheader doubleheader Saturday, slated to begin at noon. The Eagles swept Eastern Kentucky in two matches, Tuesday.

Be sure to follow the Govs on Twitter at @AustinPeayBVB for updates and come out to support the Govs on Thursday as they face North Alabama right outside the Dunn Center.
