Dugout Dish - Jock N Roll

April 01, 2019

For the first time in more than a decade, the Austin Peay softball team has won 20+ games in back-to-back seasons, but this team has more to prove. And they've been on a mission in 2019. This is 'Dugout Dish' blog where each student-athlete on the team will take an opportunity to write a post highlighting the goings on of the squad, beginning with fall training and continuing all the way through the 2019 season.

Jock N Roll

Hi everyone! My name is Katie Keen and I am currently a sophomore here at Austin Peay. Playing softball at Austin Peay has given me the opportunity to make friendships that I will have forever, get an education while staying close to home, and travel to places and see schools I probably would not have ever seen. The friendships I have made in the last year and a half are something I am truly grateful for. Without softball, I would have never met some of my best friends. Staying close to my family while being able to study business is another reason I love Austin Peay. The school of business has many course options and great professors.

Some of our team recently participated in an athlete activity called "Jock N Roll". This past Monday night, some Austin Peay athletic teams put together routines to perform from all of the athletes including judges. Our team set up a very exciting routine, some of us wore white masks while others wore white manikin heads and we danced to many popular songs. We put a lot of practice and hard work into it and ended up getting third. Hopefully next year we will create the winning routine!

We look forward to seeing you at Cathi Maynard Stadium.  We promise you will have a good time!

GO GOVS!
