CLARKSVILLE—Doug Molnar, who has served as Austin Peay's head track and field and cross country coach since 2005, will not return for the 2019-20 season. Director of Athletics Gerald Harrison announced Tuesday that Molnar's contract would not be renewed.

"I would like to thank Doug for his 14 years of leadership and commitment to Austin Peay Athletics," Harrison said. "The Austin Peay track and cross country programs have taken a positive step during his tenure and is in a better position in the Ohio Valley Conference than he found it.

"Our goal is to claim the Commissioner's Cup and provide the best student-athlete experience possible; during this search we will identify the next person that will move our program closer to this goal. Our new coach will lead with passion, win with class and believe in the 'Total Gov Concept.'"

Associate head coach Valerie Brown will lead the program on an interim basis. A national search for the program's next head coach will begin immediately.
