Social Media Rewind: Ramblin'

September 23, 2019

It was a busy weekend for the Governors, with just about everybody loading up the buses and hitting the road. Football, soccer, and volleyball were all on the road again, while cross country and softball held things down on the home front.

Football

Earlier in the week Mark Hudspeth and company took a visit to Burt Elementary School.

Then Governors headed east… not west… from the Cumberland Gap to Johnson City, Tennessee, for a game with ETSU.

Even the goodest of girls, Pat, was locked in for the Govs game.

The Govs might have fallen to ETSU, but Deangelo Wilson had himself quite the day

The ESPN Clarksville radio broadcast had a special guest join them in the broadcast booth, Austin Peay alumni and Congressman Dr. Phil Roe, who welcomed the Governors to his Congressional district.

Soccer

Last week the Governors had two players bring home Ohio Valley Conference weekly honors. Mary Parker Powell was the Goalkeeper of the Week and Renee Semaan was the Defensive Player of the Week.

Soccer opened the OVC schedule when they hosted SIUE, before heading to Cincinnati for a match. The Governors tied in both matches, but were able to shutout Cincinnati in a scoreless draw on Saturday.

Volleyball continued its 18 game road voyage this weekend. They spent the weekend in Muncie, Indiana, for the Ball State Active Ankle Challenge. The trip was a homecoming for a couple of Governors.

And to nobody's surprise Brooke Moore just continues to do good things on the volleyball court… it helps when you have a hype man.

Cross Country

The men's and women's cross country teams hosted the Annual APSU Cross Country Festival this weekend at the Eastland Green Nine South.

Softball

Softball opened up their fall schedule with a pair of exhibition wins over Trevecca, including a walk-off two-run homer to win the first game of the doubleheader.

Baseball

Shawn Kelly successfully defended his PitchingNinja Highest Pitch of the Year title when he sent this ball to the moon… #RePEAYt

Tyler Rogers has finally been freed, and as everybody in Clarksville knew, his slider is the definition of filthy…

Also, congratulations to Andrew Flaherty…

Govs Cup

And as always we end with Govs Cup highlights…
