MONTGOMERY, Ala. – A statement from Director of Athletics Gerald Harrison regarding media reports of Austin Peay State University student-athletes not appearing at tonight's Guardian Credit Union FCS Kickoff:
"While we appreciate the interest in Austin Peay's football team in the lead up to the Guardian Credit Union FCS Kickoff, we are unable to comment on any individual student-athlete's health or well-being. As usual, we brought 70 student-athletes to today's game and they are prepared and looking forward to the opportunity to play in tonight's showcase.
"We remind everyone we have and will continue to follow the NCAA Guidelines for Resocialization throughout the fall portion of our football season. Per those guidelines, we tested our student-athletes, football staff and administrative staff 72 hours prior to today's game. None of the individuals representing Austin Peay in Montgomery, Alabama tested positive for the virus that causes COVID-19."
