Coaches Show featuring Midlick and Figger, Tuesday

CLARKSVILLE – There were five basketball games in the Winfield Dunn Center last week and four more are on the slate for this week, to get you ready for all the action Austin Peay State University, Five Star Radio Group, and the Hand Family Companies present the weekly Austin Peay Coaches Show, featuring basketball head coaches Matt Figger and David Midlick, 6 p.m., Tuesday on ESPN Clarksville.

Figger and Midlick will join host Brian Rives on the air as they recap a week full of basketball in the Winfield Dunn Center and preview a pair of contests against in-state Ohio Valley Conference foes this coming week.  

Last week, Midlick's team dropped their Thursday contest to Tennessee Tech, but bounced back to pick up a win on Saturday against Jacksonville State, 61-51. On Monday night the Govs picked up their fourth consecutive win against Murray State, sweeping the season series for the second-straight season.

Figger's  squad picked up a split in their games last week, earning a hard-fought win against Tennessee Tech, 72-69, before falling to Jacksonville State on Saturday. Terry Taylor has been named one of 10 finalist for the 2021 Jerry West Award, he was also named to the Lute Olson Award Mid-Season Watch List by CollegeInsider.com.

Thursday's festivities will begin with a 4:30 p.m. women's game, followed by a 7:30 men's contest against the the Bruins. After the Govs square off with Belmont, they weill welcome Tennessee State for a 1 p.m. women's contest and a 4 p.m. men's contest on Saturday, Jan. 30.

Presented weekly, the Austin Peay Coaches Show will feature Austin Peay head basketball coaches Matt Figger and David Midlick throughout the Governors basketball season. The Austin Peay Coaches Show will be broadcast live from the Five Star Media Studios and will air live on ESPN Clarksville (104.1 FM and 540 AM) and it simulcast online.
