CLARKSVILLE – With Ohio Valley Conference basketball in full swing, Austin Peay State University, Five Star Radio Group and the Hand Family Companies present the weekly Austin Peay Coaches Show, featuring head basketball coaches Brittany Young and Nate James, 6 p.m., Tuesday, on ESPN Clarksville or available on the TuneIn app.
Young and James join host Ethan Schmidt on the air as they recap the first two weeks of OVC action and prepare for this week's games against Belmont, Eastern Illinois, and a women's game against SIUE, Monday.
Last week, Young and the women's basketball team won their second-straight conference game with a dominant, 66-49 victory over Morehead State, Saturday, at the Winfield Dunn Center.Â
The Governors are tied for third in the OVC standings heading into the third week of the conference slate and face the Bruins in Nashville before returning home for a two-game homestand against Eastern Illinois, Saturday, followed by SIUE, Monday.
The men's team looks to pick up their first conference victory when it travels to the Music City, Thursday. The Govs fell in a defensive battle to Morehead State this past weekend, but look to pick up momentum and earn Coach James his first-career OVC victory.
Both teams will take on the Bruins, Thursday, at the Curb Event Center, with the women's contest beginning at 5 p.m. and the men tipping of at 7 p.m.
After their games in Nashville, both teams return to Clarksville and host Eastern Illinois, Saturday, for 90s night presented by University Landing. The women will take on the Panthers at 1:30 p.m. with the men getting underway at 4 p.m.Â
Following their game against EIU, the women host SIUE at 6 p.m., Monday. Admission to the game will be free to the public and no ticket will be needed.
