CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – With basketball season just around the corner, Austin Peay State University, Five Star Radio Group and the Hand Family Companies present the weekly Austin Peay Coaches Show featuring head basketball coaches Brittany Young and Nate James, 6 p.m., Wednesday at Buffalo Wild Wings on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard.
Young and James join host Brian Rives as they preview their second year in Clarksville, the programs' inaugural ASUN Conference seasons, and Thursday's Govs Madness.
After leading Austin Peay to its first postseason victory in her first season, Young's 2022-23 roster features 10 newcomers, including eight Division I transfers.
A 2021-22 First Team All-Conference USA selection at Old Dominion, Ajah Wayne highlights the Govs' eight transfers, as she and Yamia Johnson were named to the ASUN Women's Basketball Preseason All-Conference Team.
In addition to his seven newcomers, James returns his top two scorers from last season in Caleb Stone-Carrawell and the 2022 Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Year, Elijah Hutchins-Everett.
The Austin Peay Coaches Show will be broadcast live from Buffalo Wild Wings and will air live on ESPN Clarksville (104.1 FM and 540 AM) and it is simulcast online.
Fans will have a chance to get their first look at the 2022-23 Austin Peay men's and women's basketball teams during Govs Madness – a night of fun, prizes, and an electric atmosphere – at 6 p.m., Thursday in the Winfield Dunn Center.
Doors to the Dunn Center open at 6 p.m. with special giveaways available to those who arrive early. The event is free to the publicÂ
