Coaches Show Featuring Rausch, Fanning, Wednesday

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – With football on a bye week, we'll turn our attention to Austin Peay's newest sport and its most-recent ASUN Champion, as the Austin Peay Athletics Department and Five Star Radio Group present the weekly Austin Peay coaches show featuring head lacrosse coach Melissa Rausch and head baseball coach Roland Fanning at 6 p.m., Wednesday at Buffalo Wild Wings on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard.

On March 11, Austin Peay announced women's lacrosse would be its 17th athletic program – and 11th women's team – competing at the Division I level. After a three-month national search for the first leader of the program, Vice President and Director of Athletics Melissa Raush was named the inaugural head coach in program history.

Rausch has spent the past five seasons at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS), beginning as an assistant coach in 2020 before being named head coach prior to the 2022 season. Before her time in Colorado Springs, Rausch began her collegiate coaching career at Nichols College, where she served as the assistant director of athletics, head women's lacrosse coach, and assistant men's lacrosse coach.

Prior to her move into collegiate athletics, Rausch was the Girl's National Director for 3D Lacrosse. She also worked at the high school level for six years as a boy's and girl's head lacrosse coach, as well as coaching field hockey.

Switching to the diamond, Fanning enters his third year at the helm of Governors baseball after leading the Govs to a 2024 Atlantic Sun Conference Regular-Season Baseball Championship after going 35-21 and 20-10 in ASUN play.

Following the 2024 season, the Govs have four student-athletes – Jon Jon Gazdar, Titan Kennedy-Hayes, Lyle Miller-Green, and Tyler Hampu – drafted in the 2024 Major League Baseball Draft.

Presented weekly, the Austin Peay Coaches Show features head football coach Jeff Faris and various assistant coaches and student-athletes throughout the football season. Fans can join Faris and host Brian Rives every Wednesday at Buffalo Wild Wings, which returns for its sixth season as the host location for the Austin Peay Coaches Show.

The Austin Peay Coaches Show is broadcast live from Buffalo Wild Wings, airs live on ESPN Clarksville (104.1 FM and 540 AM), and is simulcast online.

If you miss the live airing of the Austin Peay Coaches Show on Wednesday, it will be re-aired on Saturday at 4 p.m. leading into the Governors Sports Network's pregame show, which begins an hour before kickoff.

Tickets for the upcoming 2024 football can be purchased at LetsGoPeay.com/BuyTickets, or by calling the Austin Peay Ticket Office at 931-221-PEAY (7329).
