Key Adds a Pair of Junior College Golfers, Signs Baker and Mills for 2025-26

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Austin Peay State University head men's golf coach Easton Key has added a pair of junior college products for the 2025-26 season, with James Baker and John Mark Mills signing with the Governors on National Signing Day, Wednesday.

"I'm extremely excited to add James and John Mark to our class of 2025," said Key. "Both are extremely talented and decorated players from elite junior college programs and, most importantly, great young men. I expect them both to make an immediate impact on our program! It's a great day to be a Gov!"

A native of Johns Creek, Georgia, Baker was a 2024 NJCAA Division I PING First Team All-America and Southeast All-District selection in his first season at Central Alabama Community College. Baker has five individual wins and eight top-five finishes during his junior college career, in addition to earning All-Tournament Team honors at the DI NJCAA Men's National Championship with a 13th-place finish.

Baker is ranked as the No. 8 player nationally and the No. 1 player in his region in the NJCAA this season. Baker prepped at Johns Creek High School, where he was a Georgia High School Golf Coaches Association Class 6A All-State selection during his senior season.

Hailing from Pontotoc, Mississippi, Mills began his collegiate career at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. Mills was the individual winner at the 2024 MGCCC Fall Invitational, shooting six-under 210 at Windance Country Club in Gulfport, Mississippi. Mills also posted three top-10 finishes during the 2023-24 season, with a runner-up finish at the Lioneer Invitational.

Mills is ranked as the No. 8 player nationally and No. 4 in his region in the NJCAA this season. Mills prepped at Pontotoc High School and was the 2022 Mississippi Junior State Amateur Champion. In addition, Mills was a member of the Mississippi River Cup Team three times and competed on the AJGA Mississippi Cup Team.
