CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – With the opening two weeks of Atlantic Sun Conference play underway, the Austin Peay Athletics Department and Five Star Radio Group present the weekly Austin Peay Coaches Show with head men's basketball coach Corey Gipson and head women's basketball coach Brittany Young at 6 p.m., Tuesday, at Buffalo Wild Wing on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard.
Gipson and Young join host Brian Rives to recap a pair of ASUN contests over the week. They will be joined by student-athletes Anton Brookshire and La'Nya Foster.
The men's basketball team dropped a pair of home games to West Georgia and Queens over the week, but was led by Anton Brookshire's 22.5 points per game. Brookshire is averaging 18.3 points per game through four conference games and scored a career-high 28 points against the Wolves, Thursday.
Young and the women's basketball team earned a pair of road wins at North Alabama and Bellarmine to improve to 3-1 in ASUN action.
Four Govs scored in double figures in APSU's 75-57 victory in Florence, Alaba , led by Anovia Sheals' 19 points. Sheals then scored 16 points in the Govs' 69-58 win against the Knights in Louisville, Kentucky.
Foster has started all four games of the early ASUN slate and is averaging 11.0 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.
Presented weekly for the remainder of basketball season, the Austin Peay Coaches Show features head basketball coaches Corey Gipson and Brittany Young and various assistant coaches and student-athletes. Fans can join Gipson, Young, and Rives every Tuesday at Buffalo Wild Wings, which returns for its sixth season as the host location of the Austin Peay Coaches Show.
