The Austin Peay women’s golf team posted a score of 302 and picked up one spot on the leaderboard in the final round of The Nashville Invitational hosted by Lipscomb, Tuesday, to finish in third place with a three-round score of 900 at the President's Reserve at Hermitage Golf Course.

Govs Close Ironwood Invitational With Their Best Round, Finish 10th in North Carolina

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Led by a 17th-place finish from Kaley Campbell, the Austin Peay State University women's golf team shot a 303 – its best round of the tournament – in the third round of East Carolina's Ironwood Invitational, Tuesday, to pick up one spot on the leaderboard and finish in 10th place with a score of 920 at Ironwood Golf & County Club.

Austin Peay finished one shot behind ninth-place Jacksonville State and eight shots behind eighth-place Tulane. The Governors also were four shots better than 11th-place Radford and 18 shots ahead of Memphis and Boston, who tied for 12th. Virginia Tech won the team title with a score of 875, and North Carolina State's Marie Madsen was the individual medalist with a score of six-under 210.

Kaley Campbell led the Governors at the Ironwood Invitational, shooting a four-over 76 in the final round to finish with a score of 225.

Abby Hirtzel was the biggest mover for the Govs in the third round, shooting a three-over 75 to pick up 16 spots on the leaderboard and finish tied for 42nd with a score of 232. Jillian Breedlove also finished tied for 42nd after shooting a four-over 76 in the final round to gain eight spots on the field.

Maggie Glass tallied the final counting score for the Govs in the third round, carding a four-over 76 to pick up nine spots and finish tied for 73rd with a score of 239. Finally, Erica Scutt shot a seven-over 79 in the third round and finished tied for 53rd with a score of 234.

Austin Peay closes the regular season when it competes at the Tennessee Spring Challenge, April 7, at Fox Den Country Club in Knoxville, Tennessee. The Governors then compete at the Atlantic Sun Conference Women's Golf Championship, April 13-15, on the Highlands Course at Hampton Cove on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Owens Cross Roads, Alabama.
