BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Austin Peay State University's beach volleyball team wrapped up play at the Blazer Beach Bash on Saturday, dropping matches to Southeastern Louisiana and tournament host UAB, Saturday, at the UAB Beach Volleyball Courts.
The Govs opened the day against Southeastern Louisiana and earned a point on Court 3, where Gabriella MacKenzie and Bailey Lasater picked up a straight-set win. However, the Lions took the remaining four flights in straight sets to secure the 4-1 decision.
In the afternoon session, Austin Peay was swept by UAB. The Blazers controlled the match from start to finish, earning straight-set victories across all five courts to close out the weekend.
Next up, Austin Peay prepares for the Atlantic Sun Conference Beach Volleyball Championship, April 24-26 in Huntsiville, Alabama. The Governors' seeding and match times will be announced at a later date.
