CLINTON, S.C. — Austin Peay State University's women's tennis team fell to Furman 5-2, Monday, at the Mickel Tennis Center.
Sophia Baranov, Luca Bohlen, and Pauline Bruns fell to their opponents in singles competitions in straight sets. Yi-Cheng Huang and Clemence Butavand remain undefeated against their opponents, with Huang winning in two sets and Butavand winning in three, including a tiebreaker set. Elena Thiel took her match to a super tiebreaker but ultimately lost the match.
Bohlen and Huang fell to their doubles opponent, and Bruns and Thiel did the same. Baranov and Butavand's match was left unfinished.
The Governors continue their competition against opponent Jacksonville State on January 24 in Evansville, Indiana.
