CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Austin Peay State University second-year head beach volleyball coach Michael Hobson unveiled the Governors' 2026 31-match schedule, Friday.
The Governors will open their season at the same place they did last season, the Grand Sands Tournament in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Govs will compete in four matches, first against Eastern Kentucky and Morehead State (Feb. 20), before finishing against Tusculum and Liberty (Feb. 21).
The following weekend, Austin Peay will head east to South Carolina for the Wheeler Beach Bash. There, they will take on South Carolina and Coastal Carolina on day one (Feb. 27), and then Texas A&M Corpus-Christi and Chattanooga on day two (Feb. 28).
To end the three-tournament road trip, the Govs will play in the Georgia State Day of Duals in Atlanta, Georgia. Austin Peay will face Eastern Kentucky, Tennessee Tech, and Georgia State (March 11).
Returning to the Volunteer State, Austin Peay hosts their first tournament at home for the Stache Bash (March 13-14). The Govs will face Tusculum and Chattanooga on the first day, before facing Wingate and Chattanooga on day two.
Heading back on the road, the Govs travel to Birmingham, Alabama, for the March to May at Alabama-Birmingham (March 20-21). They will face UAB, South Carolina, and North Alabama twice during the two-day tournament.
Austin Peay remains in Alabama the following week for the Shoals Beach Bash at North Alabama (March 27-28). On Friday, they'll face Tusculum and Spring Hill, before facing conference rivals, Eastern Kentucky and North Alabama, on Saturday.
To close the regular season, the Govs will have two straight weekends on the home courts of the Atkins Family Beach Volleyball Facility. In the first tournament, the Austin Peay Classic, they will face McKendree, Texas A&M-Kingsville, Central Arkansas, and Tennessee Tech (April 3-4).
Back at home the next weekend at the Austin Peay Invitational (April 10-11), the Govs will face Southwest Baptist and Eastern Illinois on Friday, while facing Missouri State and Tennessee Tech on Saturday, with the match against the Golden Eagles being senior day.
The Govs then compete at the 2026 Atlantic Sun Conference Beach Volleyball Championship (April 22-24) at John Bunt Park in Birmingham, Alabama.
