CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Austin Peay State University's beach volleyball team returns home for the Austin Peay Classic, Friday and Saturday, at the Atkins Family Beach Volleyball facility.
The Governors open the tournament with matches at 12 p.m. and 4 p.m., Friday, against McKendree and Texas A&M-Kingsville, respectively. On Saturday, the Govs face Atlantic Sun Conference foe Central Arkansas at 12 p.m., before a 4 p.m. match against Tennessee Tech, whom they are 1-0 against this season.
Last time out, the Governors competed in North Alabama's Shoals Beach Bash, where they went 2-2 with a pair of 4-1 wins against Tusculum and Spring Hill.
McKendree is 5-6 and enters the weekend on a five-match winning streak, while Texas A&M-Kingsville is 15-4 and has won its last three matches. Central Arkansas is 15-2 this season and on a two-match winning streak, while Tennessee Tech is 2-17 and has lost 10-straight matches.
